Raymond Douglas Cramm

St. George’s, NL

December 13, 1950 – October 14, 2021

Leaving us with many wonderful memories, it is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Raymond Douglas (Doug) Cramm on October 14, 2021 after a lengthy illness.  He passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was pre-deceased by his parents Arminius and Gladys Cramm, parents-in-law Raymond and Isabell Sheppard, brother Calvin Cramm, sister-in-law Lila Sheppard and brother-in-law Ronald Sheppard.

Left to mourn but also celebrating his life, his loving wife of forty-eight years, Patsy, his children Rhonda (Steve), Troy (Jennine) and his precious grandchildren Keegan, Brody and Gracie.  Siblings, George (Sheila), Jessie (Norman), Isaac (Violet), Terrance (Lynn), Lawrence, Wilson, Pleman (Carmel), Kevin, Shirley (Leo) and Lorraine.  He will be lovingly remembered by his treasured nieces, nephews, extended family and his many personal friends.

Doug exemplified humility, honesty, and loyalty.  He lived his life in such a way that everyone afforded the pleasure of being in his company, were better for knowing this kind, gentle man.  He never met a stranger and with his ability to see humour in every situation, he made the world around him a brighter, happier place.  He derived so much pleasure in making us all laugh.  Generosity came naturally to Doug.  He helped anyone and everyone who he felt needed it, not waiting to be asked, just giving freely of anything he had.  His kindness has left many of us with lots of cherished memories.  He worked diligently to provide for his family and was a devoted husband and a cherished father and grandfather.  Doug faced major medical battles over his last years and he fought them with the same quiet courage and determination as he lived his life.

We wish to extend love and gratitude to his primary caregiver, Dr.Dwyer and his Public Health nurses,  Shauna, Katie and Samantha for their kind, compassionate care, not only to Doug but to his family.  You truly are angels.   Our sincere gratitude to his caregiver and friend, Elizabeth Delaney.  Special thanks to the late Steve and Mary Hulan who were a second family.  Also, special thanks to his lifelong best friend, Kevin Farrell.  They helped each other with anything and everything over the years and shared numerous good times, always with lots of laughter, long and loud.

He has passed from this world physically but he did not pass alone, a piece of each of our hearts went with him.  We are most fortunate to have had him, and all that he was with us.  May his beautiful soul Rest in Peace.  We will miss you, think of you often and love you always.

To honor Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A celebration of his life will be announced at a late date.  To leave messages of condolences, please visit Fillatre’s Obituary website.
