It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hilda Maria Ivany announce her passing on October 16, 2021 at Labrador Health Centre Long Term Care at the age of 76 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband, William Ivany; Children: Patricia May (Brian May), Billy Ivany (Sherry Bessey), Kathy Ivany (Anick Coulombe); Grandchildren: Rose May, Thomas May, Crystal Evans, Jason Bessey, Caleigh Ivany; Brothers: Roland Dickers (Kate), Frank Dickers (Judy), John Dickers (Beatrice) and Sister: Ethel Decker, Phyllis Gearcove (Darren), as well as a large circle of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. She was predeceased by her parents Samuel Dickers and Charlotte Gear.

Following COVID-19 guidelines and regulations, a private family visitation will take place at Fillatre Funeral Home, 45 Aspen Road, Happy Valley Goose Bay on Sunday, October 17th from 7-9 PM with a public visitation to follow on October 18th from 7-9 PM. As per the families wishes, cremation will take place after the visitation. A funeral service is set to take place on Thursday, October 21st at 2:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Happy Valley Goosebay. As expressions of sympathy, in liu of flowers, donations may be made to Helping Hands, Long Term Care.

"Footprints in The Sand"
One night I dreamed a dream.

I was walking along the beach with my Lord.

Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.

For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord.

When the last scene of my life shot before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand.

There was only one set of footprints.

I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life.

This always bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma.

“Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You, you would walk and talk with me all the way.

But I’m aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints.

I just don’t understand why, when I need You most, you leave me.”

He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings.

When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”
