Obituary of Linda Ann Foote (CARD OF THANKS)

On behalf of the Foote & Bennett families, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the condolences and support extended to us throughout Linda’s illness and since her passing on October 22nd, 2021.  

Thank you to Dr. John P. Kielty and Dr. Nadean Caines, as well as Dr. Amanda Park, Dr. Christopher Healey, Nicole White and all the nurses and staff at the Cancer Center in Corner Brook for the wonderful care they provided.  Thank you to Dr. Patti Power and staff at Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center for their outstanding care and support. Warmest thanks to Dr. Kate Lafferty, Dr. Desiree Dunn, Dr. Bill Eaton, Michelle King and all the staff of the Western Long Term Care Home - Palliative Care Unit for their exceptional care, kindness, and compassion they provided to Linda and our family.  We are lost for words to adequately express our thanks to the amazing nurses, who became a “second family” to us during Linda’s stay on the palliative care unit.  From the bottom of our hearts, we will be forever grateful for each and every one of you who continuously went above and beyond to care for her each day. 

 

Thanks to Father Edward Terry, Father Gerard Patry, the Rev. Joe Pagano and the Rev. Amy Richter, Deacon Cindy Turner, Pastor Bill Coles and all other clergy for their visits and prayers.  It made her day to have you visit and share prayers with each of you.  Special thank you to Holy Rosary Parish, as well as Father Patry, Rev. Joe and Rev. Amy for officiating the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Rosary Parish and St. David of Wales cemetery.  Thanks to the readers, servers, pallbearers and to the extraordinary staff of Fillatre’s funeral home for their compassion and professionalism.  We would also like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Pasadena Volunteer Fire Department honor guard. 

                                                                                                                  

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who has visited, called, sent messages, cards or flowers, delivered food and/or made donations and mass offerings in memory of Linda.  We truly appreciated the kind gestures and warm words of comfort.  Thank you for sharing your stories and memories with us as they highlighted what a special person Linda was to all who knew her. 

 

 

 

LINDA FOOTE 

May 18th, 1955 - October 22nd, 2021

It is with heartfelt sadness, the family of Linda Foote share that she has passed peacefully from this life, surrounded by her beloved family, into the loving arms of our Lord. She made her transition to her everlasting home on Friday, October 22nd, 2021 at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Health Long Term Care, at the age of 66. 

Predeceased by her father, Ronald Bennett; brothers, Ronald Bennett Jr.,Tony Bennett, and Lawrence Bennett; sisters, Mildred Glover and Laura Bennett; father-in-law Stewart Foote, Sr. and mother-in-law Florence Foote

Forever remembered with fond and loving memories, her beloved husband and best friend of 46yrs, Stewart Foote Jr; her cherished daughters, Sonya Duggan (Neil) and Crystal Green (Glenn); her precious grandchildren and lights of her life, Ava & Connor Duggan and Kelsey & Ryan Green; her mother, Melvina Bennett; her sisters, Frances Bennett, Melvina Snow (Don) and Florence Pynn (Kevin); her brothers: Danny Bennett (Fern), Cyril Bennett (Doris), Brian Bennett, Barry (Chris), Jim (Kelly) and Joe (Cora-Lee); her special Aunt, Loretta Nadeau; Sadie Wicks who has been a second mother to Linda; wonderful friends, Jim & Bess Merrigan and Rita Raymond & Paul Tiller; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. 

She will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul with a tremendous love for her family and friends, always putting the needs of others before her own. With the love and support of her family by her side, Linda faced every day and every challenge with strength, courage and unwavering faith. Her smile and positive attitude touched everyone’s heart. She will be loved and missed by all that had the privilege to have known her. 

Thank you to the many healthcare providers for their compassion and care. Especially Dr. Caines, Dr. Power and staff at the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center, the staff at the Cancer Center (Western Region) and the Palliative Care unit at Western Long Term Care.  

Special thanks to Father Patry, Father Terry and all other clergy that visited and shared prayers and guidance and to all the friends and family for your support and love. 

Friends may visit Holy Rosary Parish in Pasadena on Saturday, October 23rd and Sunday, October 24th from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm.  Mass of Christian Burial to follow on Monday, October 25th at 10:30am.  Interment to follow at St. David’s Anglican Cemetery   Due to Covid-19 government regulations there will be limited seating in the church and attendance at the funeral service will be by invitation only.  In addition, masks, proof of vaccination and social distancing will be required for visitation and funeral service. As expressions of sympathy a donation may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Western Health, Holy Rosary Parish or St. David’s Anglican Parish. 

For those who cannot attend the funeral service for Linda, it will be live streamed through Fillatre Funeral Homes Ltd. on Facebook, starting at 10:25 a.m.
