It is with great sadness that, we, the family of Dougald (Doug) G. B. Noel of Stephenville announce his sudden passing at the Western Memorial Hospital, Corner Brook, NL on October, 20, 2021 in his 84th year.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his wife of 59 years, Phyllis (Lawrence). His four children; Denise (Jeffrey); Geoffrey (Elize); Lisa (Kyle) and Gregory (Donna). His five beloved grandchildren; Megan (Mauricio); Andrew (Renee); Samantha (Vincent); Shaun (Kelsey) and Kristen (Josh). His two precious great-grandchildren; his Little Butterfly, Cameron, and his Little Nipper, Archer. Also, remembered by his three step-grandchildren and their families; Sean, Chantal and Ezne.
Dougald was pre-deceased by his parents, Rev. Dougald and Flora Noel; his in-law’s, Archibald and Isabel Lawrence; sister Ruby and her husband, Jim House; brother’s in-law, Clayton Hutchings; Edward and his wife, Berniece Lawrence.
He will also be affectionately remembered by his sister’s in-law; Grace Hutchings; Joan Lawrence; brother in-law, Cecil Lawrence; a large gathering of friends, fellow Masons and Shriners; nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. And his fur grand buddies in NB.
By his request, cremation has taken place. There will not be a visitation.
Following current COVID restrictions, Church Service at his long time parish of St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, Stephenville, NL will be on Wednesday, October 27 at 11 am. Service to be officiated by long time friend, Rev. Terry Rose, of Cow Head. Immediately following the service, burial will take place at Mt. Patricia’s Cemetery in Corner Brook, where Dougald will be laid to rest.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville and Western Memorial Hospital & Restorative Care Unit, Corner Brook for the sincere care and compassion during his hospital stay. “Your treatment and care and respect for him and the family will always be much appreciated.”
As a very longtime member of the Masons and Shriners, in lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory can be made to the Mazol Shriners or the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Foundation.
