Norman White

Obituary of Norman Victor White

Please share a memory of Norman to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Norman Victor White went peacefully home to God on November 14, 2021 at the age of 89.

He will forever be loved and missed by his wife Winona, daughters Clara, Susan, Jennifer, Norma-Jean, Vicki, sister Marion (Cyril), their families, his many grand and great grandchildren and wide circle of extended family and friends.

Mention “Norm White” and expect a reply of “the meat cutter”?  Everyone knew Norm, the frying pan was usually warm, welcoming a chat and a feed of fried moose.

He also loved to dance.  He was the first person on the dance floor and the last to leave.  He would dance with every lady in the building but his heart was always with his one true love, his wife Winona.

Probably the only thing he loved more than dancing was talking.  He was in his glee selling tickets at Lions Bingo because he got to talk to everyone.  He could walk into a room knowing no one and leave as a friend to everyone.

Known for his kind heart, generosity, gentle ways and most of all, devotion to his family.  He was the epitome of selflessness, always putting everyone else ahead of himself in every facet of his life.  Whether working security, the store, meat shops (there were many over the years), volunteering or just talking to a greeter at Walmart (he did that a lot on a trip across Canada) he made friends and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Many heartfelt thanks to the medical staff who took such good care of him, especially the nursing staff at the Palliative Care Centre in Corner Brook.  You are truly wonderful souls.

Memorial service will be held at a future date once all family and friends are able to gather.

In his memory we ask that you donate to your favourite charity, do a good deed and hug your loved ones.
