It is with great sadness that the family of the late Selina Jane Prosper announce her passing on November 17, 2021 at Pleasant View Manor in Lewisporte at the age of 95 years. Selina was predeceased by her parents Wallace and Florence Layden, husband Stanley Prosper, her infant son and son-in-law’s Stan Carroll and Jim Manuel. She leaves to mourn her children: Lawrence (Marion) Layden, Claudine (Bill) Prosper, Elsie (Danny) Pettit, Jo-Ann Prosper, Norma (Lem) Moyles, Alfreda (Adrian) Prosper, Yordie Prosper, Joey (Bryant) MacLean; grandchildren: Laurie, Paul, Rod, Darrell, PJ, Dennis, Tony, Robert, Terry, and Andrew, as well as a large circle of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.

During her life, Selina always carried a love for camping and the outdoors, she especially enjoyed camping at Lomond River Lodge in Bonne Bay where she regularly camped for 14 years, up until she turned 90. Selina also enjoyed spending time knitting and crocheting. She was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion where she served for many years.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Pleasant View Manor for all their care and support. Selina loved being a resident at Pleasant View and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her fellow residence and the nursing staff.

A visitation will take place at Fillatre Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Sunday, November 21^st from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 2:00 PM at All Saints Anglican Church with Reverend Tanya White officiating and interment to follow at the Anglican Townsite Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 Government regulations, face masks and Vaccine Passports will be required for entry at the visitation and funeral service. The funeral service will also be livestreamed through Fillatre's Funeral Home Facebook page for those who can not attend in-person.
