Predeceased by her parents Stanley and Effie Mesher, her sisters Mary, Dorothy, Myrtle, and Sylvia, brothers Warrick and Leslie, her beloved husband Edmund Hamel and her grandson David Jones.
Leaving to mourn her three children Wendell Hamel (Janet), Daphne Jones (Danny) and Shirley White (Mike); her six grandchildren Joshua, Erin, Ryan, Ben, Brooke and Rebecca; her great-grandchildren Adrian, Eli, Evelyn and Emerson, as well as the anticipated arrival of her unborn great-grandson arriving in the new year.
The family gives heartfelt thanks to Dr. Patterson, Dr. O’Dea, the many wonderful nurses, and staff who took such good care of Priscilla while in their care, especially for their support of Priscilla as well as the family near the end. The nurses loving care, kindness, and compassion that they gave to Priscilla and the family will never be forgotten.
Priscilla was born in Independent Harbour, Labrador, it’s where she’s from and who she was. She can surely be called a strong independent woman. She loved her family, friends and large circle of nieces and nephews. She made heartfelt connections with her many loved ones.
Priscilla loved flowers, music, talking to her many friends and family on the phone, and loved to feed you when you visited. She made the best bread, pancakes, redberry pies and jam. She gave her love by sharing them with everyone who visited, and if she could convince you to sit with her to have a game of Skip Bo, it completed her day.
Resting at the United Church, her Visitation will be held at the United Church in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, from 10:30 am to 12 pm. The service to celebrate her life will be at 2pm. All attendees must have proof of vaccination.
