The family of the late Gertrude “Peggy” O’Neill share the news of her passing on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at the age of 79. Peggy left Corner Brook at the age of 18 and pursued a career in the medical field in Toronto, Ontario where she lived her life to the fullest. Peggy is predeceased by her parents Nicholas & Isabella O’Neill, her sisters Eileen Dinn (Gordon), Cecilia Peters (Patrick) and Marjorie. She is also predeceased by her brothers Henry (Barbara Jean) and Nicholas, and her special friend Arnold Mountford of Ontario. Peggy leaves behind her sisters Delores Marshall (George) of Iowa, Anne Carleton (Charles) of New Brunswick, Maureen Pollard (James) of Mt. Pearl and Nora Hicks (Roy) of Corner Brook along with many nieces and nephews. The family wants to thank Dr. Slipp, Dr. White and the nursing staff of the Palliative Care Unit who provided care to Peggy during this past month. Peggy’s wish was to be cremated and buried with her parents. Her wishes have been carried out by the family.
