David William Rowe

It is with great sadness that the family of David W. Rowe announce the passing of their beloved husband, father, and brother. David passed peacefully away on November 29th, 2021, at home surrounded by loved ones. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered as he leaves to mourn his wife, Debbie McWhirter-Rowe; daughters, Elizabeth Rowe (Tiuri), Jennifer Rowe (Terrence), Joanne Gillis (Daniel), and Charlene Evans (Marc); grand-children, Amy, Billy, and Violet; Joan Rowe, mother of Charlene and Joanne; siblings Diane Rowe (Sheila), Robert Rowe (Shirley), Sandra Hughes (Owen), Doris Rowe (Vicky), Kenneth Rowe (Janet); Siblings-in-law, Cathy McWhirter, Margie Batstone (Terry), Darren McWhirter (Janet), Rod McWhirter (Nellie), Allan McWhirter (Aggie), as well as many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He is pre-deceased by his father, Allan Rowe; mother, Elizabeth Rowe; sisters, Kathleen Rowe, and Marguerite Green; brother, Allan Rowe Jr.
David was known for his love of music, devoting much of his time to playing bass guitar. He played for many years with the well-known band, the Humber Road Greasers, whose members will greatly miss him. David was also passionate about our province and spent many summers camping and exploring every nook and cranny of the island with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. David was a member of the local business community and poured a lot of hard work and dedication into Rowe Brothers Flooring, leaving to mourn his co-workers and friends there. David cared deeply about his family - his compassionate nature and sense of humour will be missed greatly and remembered fondly by them.
Cremation has taken place. Friends and family may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Ave, on Thursday, December 2nd, 2021 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 3rd, 2021 at 2:00pm at All Saints Anglican Church, Clarence St., with Reverend Tanya White officiating. Inurnment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. VaxPassess will be required.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
