We, the family of the late Leona Crewe, would like to express our thanks and appreciation to all, for the kindness, love and support shown to our family during this difficult time.  Your phone calls, online condolences, cards, flowers, donations and gifts of food were greatly appreciated.  Your visits to the funeral home and funeral meant a lot to us. Also, thank you to those who visited her during her short illness.  She appreciated each visit as she loved her family very much and was always happy to see you drop by. 

We would like to personally thank Dr. Thistle and Colleen for your compassion and genuine care for her.  Please know,  she adored you and appreciated everything you did for her during her short illness.  Thank you to Cody Lafosse for your care and attention to her. Thank you to the nurses of the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Long-Term Care who showed her compassion during her short stay. You were all amazing. Also, thank you to the Irishtown Mountain View 50+ Club for their generosity and thoughtfulness to the family.  We are so grateful for your kindness. 

Finally, thank you to Rev. John van Vliet, the soloist, the organist, the readers, pallbearers and to the staff of Fillatre's Funeral Home for giving her a wonderful send off like she truly deserved.  She had faith in the Lord, therefore, we know she is at peace now.  God Bless.

Doris "Leona" Crewe

November 13, 1939 - November 30, 2021

Massey Drive, NL 

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Doris "Leona" Crewe (nee Robinson) announced her passing on November 30th at the Palliative Unit of the Western Long Term Care Home in Corner Brook, at the age of 82 years after a short illness. Leaving to mourn her husband, Leslie Crewe, of 58 years and her two children; son, Kerry Crewe (Lucille) and daughter, Karen Specker (David). Her four precious grandchildren, Brandon Crewe (Allison Pittman), Melissa Crewe (Christopher Hefler) and James Specker and Jordan Specker (Tyson Bennett); sisters and brothers in law; Pearl Pretty, Glenn and Audrey Crewe, Louise and Derrick Curtis, Gerald and Mag Crewe, Gordon and Ruth Crewe, Eileen and Garland Hurley, Marg and Ray Higgins, Wince and Elsie Crewe, Rose and Frank Parsons, Roger and Margot Crewe, Helen Robinson and Marion Gale. As well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends from Massey Drive and Birchy Narrows.

She was predeceased by her parents; George and Selina Robinson; sisters Sylvia Park, Mary Parsons and Vera Brown; brothers, William Henry Robinson, Abby Robinson, Alexander Park, Carl Robinson and Glenden Robinson; niece, Linda Robinson and nephews Derrick Park and Joseph Crewe; parents in law; Eldon and Dorothy Crewe; sisters in law; Millicent Robinson, Ivy Park and brothers in law; Roland Park, Richard Parsons, George Brown and Clarence Pretty.  As well as her two great nephews, Shane Robinson and Collin Robinson.

Visitation will take place at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Friday from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 4^th at 11 AM from The First United Church on Park Street with the Rev. John Van Vliet officiating. Vaxpass and I.D will be required at both visitiaton and Funeral service. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
