It is with great sadness that the family of the late Annie Mercy Carter announce her passing on Friday, August 14th, 2009 at the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her husband John Thomas Carter, December 1980, her parents William and Sarah Jane Short, sons Reginald and Jerome, sisters Naomi, Leah, Ada and brother Ambrose. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons: David (Maxine) Carter, Pasadena, Derek (Shirley) Carter, Deer Lake, Donald (Viola) Carter, Pasadena, Dorman (Pauline) Carter, Ontario and Monty Carter (Shirley Callahan), Ontario; daughters: Diane Parsons (Walter Shears), Deer Lake, Mary Lou (Bill) Pennell, Springdale and Annmarie Carter, Springdale. 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 17th at 2:00 PM from St. Michael’s and All Angels Anglican Church, Farm Road with Rev. Canon John Meade officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Pasadena. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Michael’s and All Angels Church Accessibility Fund or to a Charity of One’s Choice.
