Dorothy Helen Sidney

January 5^th, 1934 - December 28^th, 2021

It is with heavy hearts and immense sadness that the family of the late Dorothy Helen Sidney (née Porter) announce her passing on December 28, 2021, at the age of 87, surrounded by her loving family. Leaving to mourn with loving memories, son, Dorman (Catherine) Porter; granddaughter Kristi (Jamie) Curnew; great-grandson Cameron Curnew; sisters: Marion Blackwood, Shirley Callahan, Elaine Farnell, Sheila (Harry) Donnan, Dale Porter and Rosie (Ralph) Boonstra; brothers: Greg Porter, Curtis Porter and Harold (Butch) (Margie) Porter. Along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends that loved her dearly. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Dorman and Francis Porter, husband John Sidney, sister Barbra Young, brother Edgar Porter, brothers-in-law Kevin Callahan, Kevin Farnell and Pierce Blackwood, sister-in-law, Agnes Porter. Anyone who knew Dorothy knew she had a huge heart and a passion for life. She loved everyone with her whole heart and will be sadly missed by all. A special thanks to all the staff of Western Long Term Care Centre for their care and consideration of Dorothy during her stay. Cremation has already taken place.  Due to covid restrictions, there will be no formal service at this time.  A celebration of Dorothy’s life will take place at a later date when all family and friends can be together. As an expression of sympathy donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
