Corner Brook, NL Passed peacefully away on Monday, August 24th, 2009 , John Doody Sr. at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 73 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are: his wife of 50 years, Yvonne; five children: Michael (Kristopher), Vancouver, BC, Beverly (Clifford), Corner Brook, Theresa (Michael), Corner Brook, John (Angelia), St. John’s and Henry (Angela), Fredericton, NB; nine grandchildren: Jonathan, Samantha, Sarah, Kimberly, Emily, Katie, Joshua, Ariana and Isabella; one brother: Monsignor James Doody, St. John’s; two sisters: Agnes Corcoran (Mike), Topsail and Etta Conway, Corner Brook; cousin: Edgar Doody, Florida; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Casimir and Sarah Doody; brothers: Aiden, Ben, Gerald and Leonard; sister: MaryEllen. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 27th at 10:30 AM from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mt. Bernard Avenue, Monsignor James Doody officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shepherd’s Fund.
