March 13, 1946 – January 7, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Alice Cecilia Sheppard {nee Gillam} announce her passing, peacefully in her home on January 7, 2022 at the age of 75 years.

Leaving to mourn, her devoted and loving husband Raleigh, her son Dion, (Penny), daughter in law, Karalee, her grandsons, Kurt and Colby and her beloved fur baby Lily. Her siblings Helen Park and Shawn Gillam, her sister-in-law and closest friend Helen Park and husband Derek, brother-in-law Ivan Sheppard and his wife Phyllis, sisters-in-law Patti Walsh, Anita Park, Verna Gillam and Kay Gillam and a number of nieces, nephews, close neighbours and friends who were all very special to her.

Alice was predeceased by her youngest son Dana, her parents Ernest (Gus) and Lida Gillam, parents-in-law John and Elizabeth Sheppard, siblings John, Melvin, Percy, Durrell Gillam and Masie Gillam, brothers-in-law Randy and Darren Sheppard & Joe Park, sister-in-law Verna Gillam.

Alice always wore a smile and enjoyed a good laugh. In spite of her battle with cancer, Alice kept her positive attitude and fought with vengeance until the very end.

As per Alice’s wishes, cremation has taken. In following Covid 19 protocols, an intimate funeral service with immediate family and closest friends will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church officiated by Rev. Effie Organ. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery.  The funeral service will be livestreamed and can be viewed on Fillatre Funeral Homes Ltd. Facebook Page. Expressions of sympathy can be made to St. James Anglican Church or the Canadian Cancer Society.
