Walter (Ross) Nicolle

August 25, 1929 – January 13, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Walter (Ross) Nicolle announce his passing at the Long Term Care Facility in Corner Brook surrounded by his family on January 13th, 2022, and the age of 92 years. He was reunited with the love of his life of 60 years, Frances.

He was a beloved Dad, Pop, and Great-Pop, and brought much joy to everyone he met. He leaves to mourn with loving memories his children: Walter (Karen), Larry, Della (Eddie), Lori (Bruce), David (Wendy); His grandchildren: Paula, Tara, Brandon, Alyssa, Nathan, Kaitlyn, Tayler, Alex; His great-grandchildren: Mya, Ali, Brady, Kynzly, Payzly, Harlyn; Daughter-in-law:  Gladys; Sisters: Madge (Charles), Rowena; Sister-in-laws: Marg (Don), Virginia, Glenda, Florence; and Special cousin Florence Hutchings. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Frances; son Bruce; grandson's Lance, and Stephen, brothers Alex, and Russell; and sister Vera. 

Dad and Mom opened their arms and hearts to over 90 foster children who needed their love and care. He will be missed by many, but not forgotten. The family would also like to send a special thanks to the Staff at LTC - 4 South for their care and compassion over his last few years. 

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 2:00 pm from St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Rocky Harbour to a maximum of 50 people in compliance with Covid-19 regulations. The service is being officiated by Reverend Wilhelmena Green and interment will follow at the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held at St. Matthews Church Monday from 2-4 pm and Tuesday from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm to a maximum of 20 people at a time, proof of vaccination, Identification and masks will be required to enter for both the funeral service and visitation.
