Alexander (Sandy) Anderson

March 23, 1937 – January 23, 2022

Burgeo, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alexander (Sandy) Anderson announce his sudden passing, while surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 84 years. Leaving to mourn with wonderful memories, his son Wayne (Dot), daughter Bonnie Grant (John), granddaughter Kelsey Clothier (Zach), sisters Queenie Benoit (Wilson), Patsy Ingram (Bob) and Joan Anderson; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Sandy was welcomed into heaven by his wife Bernice, his parents Hazel and Alfred, sisters Nellie, Eva, Mary, Bessie, Margaret and Dollie; Brothers Bill, Ronald, Gordon, Roy and Alfred.

Sandy lived his life to the fullest. He spent many years on the water working, fishing and enjoying peace at the cabin. In later years, he found joy at his trailer in Peter Strides, and going for drives around town to strike up a conversation with everyone he met.

A family service will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 11:00 Am at the Burgeo Community Cemetery with Reverend Elsie Rose officiating. Due to current Covid restrictions the service is limited to immediate family and close friends.
