Cyril Pittman
June 19, 1950 – January 22, 2022
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our devoted husband and father Cyril Pittman on January 22, 2022, at the Health Science Centre surrounded by his loving family.
Left to mourn but also celebrating a very beautiful life together, his loving wife of 50 years, Theresa and his children Neil and Katie (James). A special mention to Crystal-Lee, Sarah, and A.J., whose relationship with Uncle Cyril was a very special part of his life. Also leaving to mourn siblings; Alma, Edna, Hubert, Jessie (Morris), Alonzo (Annie), Gary, Daphne (Scott), brothers-in-law; Alonzo (Edith), Fred (Bonnie). He will be fondly remembered by a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.
Predeceased by his parents James and Margaret Pittman, his parents in law Benjamin and Effie Combdon, sisters; Rose, Martha, Winnie, and brother Gilbert.
Dad will be forever remembered as a man who would always be there to lend a helping hand to anyone. He worked earnestly to provide for his family. He loved and took great pride in the family cabin at Taylors Brook and could be found there most weekends of the winter. The door was always open for everyone to drop in for a warmup with a cup of tea or of course a drink. He spent many hours on the pond ice fishing with his best ice fishing buddy, Mom.
We wish to extend a heartfelt thanks to his physicians and nurses at both Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville and Health Science Centre, St. John’s.
To honor dad’s wishes, cremation will take place and a funeral service will be held at a later date. A celebration of life will be held at his cabin later this winter.
