Elmer Jesus Concepcion Parcon
October 9, 1949 – February 2, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elmer “Butch” Parcon announce his peaceful passing on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the age of 72.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, His wife of 43 years Imelda (nee Zerrudo); Children Mariel (Stephen) Newell, Pasadena, NL and Michael (Nicole) Parcon, Saint John, NB; Step-granddaughter Sarah Newell, Pasadena, NL; Sisters Teresita (Gill) Pescasiosa, Philippines and Ema (Matthew) Sullivan, Boston, MA; Brother Teodorico Jr. (Nancy) Parcon, New Zealand; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
He is predeceased by Parents Teodorico and Milagros Parcon, Brother Raul Emilio Parcon.
Elmer was born in Iloilo City, Philippines and arrived in Corner Brook, NL in 1978. Over his rewarding 35-year career, Elmer worked with Fishery Products International, The Glynmill Inn, the Provincial Department of Finance, and Canada Revenue Agency up until his retirement in 2014. Elmer was also involved in his community previously serving on the Humber Community YMCA Board of Directors, as a member of the local Toastmasters Club, and as a key figure in the local Filipino community. He will be remembered as a man of dry wit, a dedicated father, and a devoted husband.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Final burial will take place in the Philippines.
His family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude and thanks to the Western Health Community Support Program, Dr. Phillip Morris, Dr. Amy Pieroway, Dr. Jill Follett, the Palliative Care team led by Dr. Kate Lafferty, his home care givers Lisa Soper and Frank Crocker, and friends and family.
