It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Hooker (Kenneth) Best at the age of 72 years while surrounded by those who loved him dearly.

 

Hooker was born in Mud Lake on June 3rd, 1949, to parents Cortland and Agnes Best. He grew up in a loving family of 6 sisters 4 brothers: Carol(Lloyd), Drucella, Shont(Gloria), Ronnie, Drue (Watson), Marjorie(Dorm) Claudine(Pat), Raymond(Jane), Randy(Melissa), Sharon(Perry).

 

 He was married on May 9th,1969 to wife of 53 years Donna (Gibbons). Together they raised 5 children, Roberta(Dave), Jennifer, Kimberly, Michael(Doreen)and Sandi(Karl).  Poppa played a huge role in the lives of his grand children, Kenny(Elizabeth), Nicole, Cameron, Michelle, Daniel, Myles and Josie and his great grand daughter Rachel. 

 

Leaving to mourn a huge circle of family, friends…including the absolute love of his life, the best ice cream sharing partner.. his dog Minga. 

 

The family would like to thank the staff at the Labrador Health Centre especially his nurses Rebecca, Stacey, Jenella, Morgan, Danika and Megan your kindness and compassion did not go unnoticed during Hooker’s brief stay in the hospital.
