Barbara Myrtle Young (nee Porter) Mt. Moriah, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late Barbara Young announces her passing on Saturday, September 19th, 2009 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 70 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband: James, Mt. Moriah; daughter: Deidre Oxford, Corner Brook; sons: Clinton (Karen), Toronto, ON, Shane (Lisa), Saskatchewan, Blake (Beverley), Corner Brook, Brett (Karen), Alberta, Troy (Robyn), Toronto, ON and Mark, Toronto, ON; grandchildren: Justin, Melissa and Meghan, Joey and Sara, Janice and Haleigh, Brandon and Jeremy, Terrilyn and Sabrina, Krista Webb; great grandchildren: Ava, Hayden, Heidi, Jordyn and Moriah; brother: Mundon Porter (Lola), Mt. Moriah; sisters: Roberta Hussey, Mt. Moriah, Dorothy Lilly, Brampton, ON and Margaret Hussey (William), Mt. Moriah; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Blanford and Rachel Porter; sister: MaryEllen (Nel) Noseworthy; brother: Gordon and brothers-in-law: John Hussey and Donald Lilly. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Sunday evening, 7-9:00 p.m. and Monday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary the Virgin, Anglican Church, Curling. Reverend Karen Laldin officiating, followed by interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. Mary’s Church Memorial Fund.
