It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Noreen on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at the age of 50 years. Our beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and aunt. Noreen passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with her illness. Noreen was the oldest daughter of Calvin and Linda Park of McIvers and daughter-in-law of Ronald and the late Sarah Penney of Irishtown-Summerside. Noreen is survived by her beloved husband of more than 30 years Daniel “Danny” Penney; her only child Daniel “Dee Jay” Penney (Corey-Leigh); her precious grandchildren: Kaylee, Zendaya, Laynee and Walker; sisters: Joanne (Jeffrey) Morgan and Jill (Ryan) Jansen; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Anne (Clayton) Hopkins, Cletus (Janice) Penney, Rona (Floyd) Brake, Herbert, Grace, Viola, Della and Linda (Andy) Burns; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Noreen had a heart of gold for everyone she met and was the most selfless person you ever met. She was always by Danny’s side night and day. She loved and adored her grandchildren and took them many places. Everyday the little darlings would ask when will nanny be home. Her wish is that they grow up to always remember her. A very special thank you to Noreen’s best friend Rona Brake for her love, care and support during her illness. Thank you to the staff at the Intensive Care Unit at , the Heath Science Centre in St. John's, QEII in Halifax and Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook who cared for Noreen over the last precious weeks of her life. Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Friday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Saturday 7-9 p.m. Vaccine Passports, ID and face masks required for entry. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tanya White officiating. We know that many people would like to attend but due to Covid-19 Restrictions the funeral service will be by invitation only.
