It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mercedes Dorothy Watton Rowsell announce her passing on Monday, April 11, 2022 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre at the age of 92 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons: Randy (Christine) Watton, Derek (Beverley) Watton and Greg (Joan) Watton; step-son Terry (Marie) Rowsell; step-daughter Diann Pretty; grandchildren: Garrett, Brian, Michael, Mark, Matthew, Samuel, Jessica and Felix; great-grandchildren: Issac, Alivia, Logan and Hudson; brother Robert (Bobby) Brake (Joyce); sisters: Dinah (Ben) Crocker and Ruby (Don) Randell; sisters-in-law: Margaret Brake and Elaine Watton; brother-in-law Russell Snook; special cousin Marion White Hewitt; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her 1^st husband Melvin Watton, 2^nd husband Leslie Rowsell, parents Leslie and Dinah Brake, sisters Effie Brake, Annie (Phillip) Payne, Leona Snooks, Joan (Eldon) Street and Jane (John) Critch, brother Ned Brake.  A very special thank you to the staff at Corner Brook Long Term Care, 2 North for their exceptional care and compassions. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Tuesday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Majors Brian and Valerie Wheeler officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation, Corner Brook Long Term Care.
