Lavern Mary White
September 29, 1953 – April 18, 2022
Lavern Mary White, age 68, loving Mom of 3 and doting Nan of 4 passed away in the early hours of April 18th after a courageous battle with cancer. Lavern was born in 1953 in Norris Point, the 5th of 8 children to Alice and Hugh Hinks. She married in 1973 which led to a loving family of 5. As a Mother she was generous, loving and kind. As the best Nan she was unreasonable, oblivious to all parent rules and absolutely spoiled her grandchildren in any way she could. As a Sister she was bossy, dependable and unquestionably loyal. In all her roles she was adored and loved beyond measure. She loved to camp and knit, she loved her card nights, her mystery books and crime shows, but she loved her family the most. She was a devoted and faithful member of the Catholic Woman’s League for 37 years. She held many offices during that time. She was a Christian Family Life Chairperson, Local President, served on the Parish Council and Provincial Level CWL. She was also a Eucharistic Minister and Alter Server. She loved her church.
Lavern was predeceased by her husband Carl, her parents Hugh and Alice Hinks, her sister Pam Goudie, brother-in-law Clarence Rice, mother-in-law Gertie White and sister-in-law Linda Anderson. She leaves to mourn her 3 children Trina (Svein), Terri Lynn (Mark), Trevor (Tara), grandchildren Nathan, Mackenzie, Matthew, and Carlie. Her siblings Joan, Clarence, Shirley (Chris), Gertie (Bruce), Bernie (Jackie), and Todd (Ericka). As well as many loving nieces and nephews. She also leaves with fond memories her card girls Theresa, Vera, Rose, Peggy, Helen, Agnes, and a special neighbour turned family friend Bertha.
