June 30, 1941 – May 6, 2022

It is with great sorrow that the family of the late Ina Alice Shears, announces her passing on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL at the age of 80 years.

Mother, Grandmother, Mentor, Teacher, Special Education Consultant, Girl Guide Leader, Sheep Farmer, Military Spouse, TIRELESS Community Volunteer and PROUD Acadia Graduate.

Left to mourn a life well-lived is husband of 64 year, Chesley; children:  John (Christina), Carolyn (Patrick), Richard (Roxanne);  grandchildren:  Nicole (Daniel), Danica (Larry), Ben and Hannah; great- grandchildren:  Oliver, Finneas, Callum; lifelong friend and cousin Muriel Chislett; brother Don (Joan) Shears as well as other family and friends.

She is pre-deceased by her father Richard Shears and Mother Pearl Hulan Shears (Cartyville); brothers David and Lionel Shears.

A Big Thank You to the Staff in the ICU and Palliative Care Units at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville for the amazing care you have taken of our family in this trying time.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
