Lucy Sheppard

October 15, 1932 – May 10, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lucy Sheppard announce her passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 at the age of 89. Lucy always liked to make people laugh and she will be remembered for her infectious smile.  She leaves with fond and loving memories her son Murray Sheppard (Beaverton, ON) and her daughter Loretta and her son-in-law Kerry Barry (Lark Harbour, NL) Grandchildren: Makayla Barry, Jesse Sheppard, and Samantha Sheppard. Brother-In-law Lawrence (Jean) Sheppard. Her best friend and neighbour Mrs. Louise Sheppard and her family, especially daughters:  Mary Lou & Allison. Her very special cousin: Madeline (Lorne) Milley (Botwood, NL); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

 Lucy was predeceased by her husband Lionel Sheppard, two infant sons and two infant daughters, parents Allison & Alice Jewer, parent-in-laws George & Maude Sheppard, sisters Vera (Ron) Noseworthy and Viola (Calvin) Langdon, brothers: Alfred (Stella) Jewer, Max (Dorcas) Jewer, and Scott Jewer. Sister-in law Victoria (Jack) Travers, brother in-laws: John (Elizabeth) Sheppard and Aaron (Vonetta)Sheppard. Niece: Judith Noseworthy, Nephews: Terry Travers, Randy (Diane) Sheppard, and Darren Sheppard. Great Nephew Dana Sheppard and his mother Alice Sheppard.

Visitation will take place from St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 from where the funeral service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Effie Organ officiating. The interment will follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery.

As expression of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church or the charity of one’s choice.

The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Corner Brook Long Term Care 2 North for taking such great care of Mom – especially during her last few days and to Margo Hann – your care and kindness will never be forgotten.
