Rubina Pearl Cassell
September 14, 1932 – May 23, 2022
It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of the Late Rubina Pearl Cassell announce the passing of their precious mother in her 89th year at Long Term Care in Corner Brook on May 23, 2022.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children Joyce (Clayton) Pittman, Anita Boyle, Boyce (Susan) Cassell, Vernon (Jean) Cassell, Audrey Kelly, Lorraine (Bruce) Cassell, Bernette (David) Kelly, Shawn (Melissa) Cassell, Sherry (Tony) Blanchard; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister Jean; brothers Cecil and Maxwell. Her nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Ruby was predeceased by her husband Phillip Cassell; parents Margaret and Alfred Pollard; sisters Audrey, Annie, and Dulcie; brother Hector; son in law Tony Kelly.
Ruby loved spending time with her family and friends, attending church, and a being a member of the ACW for many years. She enjoyed gardening, riding skidoo, riding her scooter, knitting, sewing, playing cards, socializing, going on adventures, listening to music, and baking (especially making her tea buns).
A special Thank you to the wonderful staff at the Long Term Care, Corner Brook for their care and compassion for mom over the last 4 years while she battled with Dementia.
A visitation will be taking place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Wednesday, May 25th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Church of the Ascension, Howley on Thursday, May 26th at 2 pm. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery.
