It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ernest LeCointre announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville at the age of 95 years.


 Left to mourn are his children: Sons:  Augustus, Albert (Francie), Edward (Viola), Russell (Sandra); Daughter Edna; grandchildren:  Samantha, Dwayne, Kimberly, Conway, Courtney, Melvin, Ieshia, Holly; great-grandchildren:  Staci, Carly, Toby, Selena, Liam, Noah, Colton, Shana, Jailynn, Trystan;  great-great-grandchild Stella

and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is predeceased by his wife Annie (nee LeBoubon), infant children Delsie and Devias; his parents Alphonsus and Emilia; brothers:  Baptiste, Martin, Michael and Raymond; sisters:  Eva, Constance and Alice.

 

Ernest was a caring, loving man, father, and grandfather.  His family was always number one in his heart and in his life.  He is well remembered as a hard-working fisherman who spent most of his life on the sea.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Ann’s Chapel in Mainland with Fr. Lourdhu Madanu officiating. Interment to follow at Roman Catholic Cemetery in Mainland. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to “A Charity of One’s Choice”.
