Obituary of Ronald Nathan French
August 16, 1944 – June 29, 2022
It is with broken hearts that the family of Nathan Ronald French, Ron to everyone, announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022 at his home in St. David’s, NL.
Born August 16, 1944 at St. David’s to parents Norah (nee Alley) & Edward French.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Maureen (nee Whiffen) French; daughters: Jenny (Dennis), Christine (Chad), Jamie (Billy); sons: Paul (Trudy), Allan (Nicole), 14 grandchildren: Gregory, Colleen, Brian, Jordan, Rhianna, Mason, Kaylee Lynn, Christopher, Carter, Samantha, Brandon, Paula, Tanner and Douglas, 2 great-grandchildren: Maisie and Joshua; sister Palma Shears, brother Raymond French and many nieces and nephews but 3 that he was closes to: Raymond McLean, Hughie McLean and Ina Quilty. He leaves many, many friends. He was loved by everyone.
He was predeceased by his parents: Edward and Norah French; sisters: Mary, Elva, Pearl and Ada; brothers: Charlie and Baby Gordon.
Our dad was a dad like no other. He held our family together, the foundation on which we all grew. The greatest Pop we could ever want for all our children. He loved them all dearly. A husband of 40 years to his wife. We knew how much he loved us all. Everyone who knew him, knew of his wit, his ability to joke and make you laugh. His laughter was contagious and he will be remembered for that.
Rest well on that mountain called heaven, that Cross you have to carry no more. Embrace those that went before you. Until we meet again dad.
Visitation on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in St. David’s.
Funeral service on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Saint Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in St. David’s with Rev. Norman Cutler officiating. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery in St. David’s.
At Ron’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saint Michael and All Angels Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
