It is with great sadness, yet appreciation for a wonderful and fulfilling life, that we announce the passing of our mom, Eva Muriel Eldridge, on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at the age of 99. Mom passed away peacefully at the Long Term Care Facility in Corner Brook, NL, surrounded by her loving family. Our beautiful mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Marie (Norm), Rosemary and Carol Anne; her sons Cyril, Barry (Brenda), George (June) and Roddy (Pauline); her grandchildren Murray, Shelley, Aimee, Ronnie, Karen, Alice, Wendy, Alison, Claudia, Sheldon, Calan, Jennifer and Lisa.; her many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Mom (Eva) was predeceased by her husband Frederick E. Eldridge (1986), baby boy Raymond, her parents Alice (Brockway) and John Carroll; her sisters Nina and Mary; daughter-in-law Shannon, sister and brother-in-law Sylvia and Stan Bonia and nephews Ross and Ken Companion, Gerard, and Peter Bonia,.

Eva’s family extends a special thank you to the staff of 4 South, Long Term Care for the professionalism and kindness demonstrated through their care of mom and the support given to our family to help ease our pain during this difficult time. Thank you to mom’s past homecare workers, Geneva, Joanne, Linda, and Ashley.

Mom (Eva) lived a full life; she will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her genuine concern for others, her knitting, sewing, crossword puzzles, her exceptional musical talent, and her church ministries. 

The family will be receiving friends at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Thursday, July 7, 2022, from the hours of 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, The family is requesting for all visitors to please wear a mask during the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Benoit’s Cove at 10:30 am on Friday, July 8, 2022, with interment to follow at the Roman Catholic cemetery on Graveyard Road. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed through Fillatre’s Facebook page.

As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Red Cross, to the Breakfast Program at St. Peter’s Academy or to a charity of one’s choice.
