Annie Gertrude Hancock passed away peacefully at the Labrador Grenfell – Long Term Care facility in Forteau, Monday July 11, 2022, surrounded by her family. Annie was born in Forteau, Labrador on July 7, 1929 to Gertrude and Eli Roberts. She had two brothers, Almond and Kenneth and sister, Lily. Annie married her soulmate Llewelyn Hancock, on February 2, 1948. Both she and Llewelyn raised seven children and anyone who knew Annie, knew that her family were her absolute pride and joy and was certainly her number one possession. Her faith and her church were also extremely important pieces in her life. Annie was also known for her baking abilities and the amazing taste that she would put into her cakes and pies; family would argue that her raisin pies were the absolute best. With such a kind and friendly personality, she also loved to see people visit, the more the merrier and anyone who knew her, knew that Annie certainly enjoyed a good laugh. Annie is predeceased by her beloved husband, Llewelyn Hancock, mother (Gertrude Roberts), father (Eli Roberts), brother (Almond Roberts) and sister (Lily Dumaresque). Left to mourn are children: Derrick (Helen), Nelson (Joan), Burnette (Oswald), Gloria (Don), Rodney (Patsy), Ruth (Rob), Joyce (Dwayne) and Annie’s brother, Kenneth Roberts (Phyllis). Grandchildren: Darcy, Cindy (Bruce), Pamela (Gavin), Perry, Sherry (Dexter), Anthony, Dwayne (Charlotte), Tim (Sandra), Shevon (Don), Aaron (Genna), Robyn (Tony), Geoff and Brittany (Fabian); great grandchildren: Cameron, Danielle, Gracie, Carter, Kelsey, Courtney, Nathan, Lily, Teea, Tanner, Kaylee, Kaleb and Aubree; great-great grandchildren: Haidyn and Angel Constantineu (predeceased).
Family Service will take place on Wednesday, July 13 from 7-8 pm at the United Church in Forteau. Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 2 pm at the United Church, Forteau. The Hancock family would like to thank the staff at Labrador Genfell-Long Term Care Facility in Forteau for the wonderful care that they have provided their beloved mom over the past eight years. Your kindness and thoughtfulness will not be forgotten.
