Leo Bouzan
March 7, 1953 - July 12, 2022
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Leo Bouzan at the age of 69 years. Leo will be forever loved and remembered by his son: Linden (Joyce) in Ontario; brother Wade in British Columbia; sisters: Dinah (Chuck) in North Carolina, Shirley (George) in Barachois Brook, and Roxanne in Alberta, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Leo was predeceased by his parents: Greg and Josephine Bouzan and his siblings: Claude, Marigold, Lorraine and Del.
Leo loved the great outdoors and all that it encompassed. From a young boy, he loved the water. Many a day was spent fishing at the Gut Bridge, rowing his dory across the bay in search of a “good catch”, or setting his nets for smelt fishing. As a young adult living in Newfoundland, Leo worked as a cab driver for Russell’s Taxi Service, as well as working on seasonal RRAP projects. After moving to BC, Leo worked for Elk Falls Paper Mill, outside of Campbell River, and years later for Walcan Seafood, one of the largest commercial fish processing plants near Quadra Island, BC.
In addition to outdoor activities, Leo enjoyed playing darts and had a great passion for music. He sang in local bands, played guitar, and loved writing songs. One of the highlights of Leo’s life was having recorded original songs on his album.
According to Leo’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral service and inurnment for Leo will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home in Stephenville Crossing.
