Calvin Gilbert

February 26, 1940 – September 7, 2022

Lark Harbour, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of Calvin Gilbert announce his passing, peacefully in his home on September 7th, at the age of 82 years. 

Leaving to mourn, his devoted and loving wife of 59 years, Elsie, his son Barry (Denise), daughters Bonnie Wheeler (Dean), Angela Macdonald (Dean), Penny Sheppard (Dion) and Krista Gilbert (Ivan), his grandchildren Chuck ( Julie ), Danika, Deidre (Mykell), Mallory ( Andrew), Courtney (Marcus), Caitlin (Tyler), Kurt, Colby, Jada and Cooper, great-grandchildren Calvin and Scarlett, siblings Rose Bragg (Johnny), Nora Rose (Willis), Douglas Gilbert (Mary), Ruth Smith (Wayne), and a large circle of in-laws, family and friends. Calvin was predeceased by his parents Myrtle & Douglas Gilbert. 

Calvin was a loving husband and father who cherished time spent out outdoors with family and friends. An avid hunter and fisher, he lived his life enjoying the simple pleasures and sharing a laugh and a story with everyone he met.

Visitation will occur at St. James Anglican Church on Friday, September 9th from 2 - 4pm and 7- 9pm. Funeral service will held on Saturday, September 10 at 2pm at St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour with Rev. Effie Organ officiating.  Interment to follow at St. James Anglican cemetery. As Expressions of sympathy donations can be made to St. James Anglican Church.
