It is with great sadness that the family of the late Arthur (Dave) Targett announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at his residence in Corner Brook at the age of 73 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Brenda Elford; children: Carol-Anne Andrews (Bill) and George Targett (Brenda Lee); daughter-in-law Bonita Smith; step-children: Dana Pittman (Nell Brophy), Neil Pittman (Candis), Melvina Decker (Lew), Roger Laing and Kerry Laing (Kate); grandchildren: Adam Targett (Dana Vokey), Alexander Targett (Megan Hatcher) and Brady Targett; step-grandchildren: Andrew Andrews (Amanda Burke), Eric Humber (Andrews), Andrew Roche, Abby Pittman, David Decker (Kendra), Vanessa Decker )Josh), Christa Wajcik (John), Roslyn Decker “Matchmaker” and Alex Laing; great-grandchildren: David Targett, Ava Targett, Lily Targett and Jayden Targett; step-great-grandchildren: Jaboke Vokey, Alex Vokey, Xavier Andrews, Katherine Decker, Lincoln Hoggard, Marshall Wojcik, Harper Wojcik and Freya Kavli; brothers and sisters: Gary Targett (Rosemary), Gertie McDonald (Bob), Judy Hubbard (Jim), Joseph “Bim” Targett (Lori Collins, Delores (Terry) Hynes and Gerald Targett (Connie); special nieces and nephews: Connie (Al), Kevin (Tracey), Cathy (Brian) and Jonnie (Cindy); close friends Bob Parsons and Theresa Gallant; as well as a large circle of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Gertrude Targett, son David Targett, sister Barbara Neil and brother Douglas Targett. A very special thank you to Dr. Bowen and Dr. Pieroway. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Sunday and Monday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 13 at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with The Very Rev. Catherine Short officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy.
