Obituary of Edna Nichols
Edna Nichols
October 7, 1938 – September 14, 2022
Edna Nichols passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 14th, 2022, at the age of 83 years.
Edna’s fairy-tale saw her fall in love with Calvin Nichols (son of the late Reta Guinchard and George Roy Nichols) of Nicholsville. Together married for 66 years they created a home, became successful entrepreneurs and raised four loving children together; daughters, left to mourn Cindy (Caines) & Paul Knott, Angela (Chynn), and sons, predeceased Craig and Darren.
They were blessed with their first grandchild Joanne (Nigel Brake), and she was so delighted to be a Nan - she hit the jackpot when along came more; Teela Nichols (Josh O'Connell), Justin Chynn, Samantha Chynn, and Reisha Knott. Edna cherished having a table filled with her loved ones together, so she was overjoyed with the arrival of her the great grandchildren; Bailey & Michael Nichols, Soleil (Young), Wesley (Brake), Frankie & Dylan (Brake), and predeceased by infant great grandchildren Autumn & Freya (Chynn). The excitement didn’t stop there - she was thrilled to be blessed with great great grandchildren; Isabella, Carter, and Amara who were all touched by her love.
She is mourned by her sisters Melva (Reginald Hillier), Nellie (the late Gus Adams), Vera (the late Bob Boyle), and predeceased by Jean (Jud Bursey) and parents Isaac and Mabel Eddy.
She was equally adored by her in-laws, Melvin (Grace) Nichols, Wayne (Madonna) Nichols, Terry (Georgina) Nichols, Sharon (Randy Goobie), Irene (the late Garland Thomas), and predeceased by Ivan (Joan) Nichols, Nellie (Moses Smith), Alice (Jim Kelly), and Bruce (mourned by Alma) Nichols.
Edna had many adventures with her best friend and soul sister, Theresa Clarke, her wonderful card club ladies, and church group. She longed to be in nature, skiing, sledding, snow shoeing, skating, hiking, and more. She was phenomenal at cooking, baking, cake decorating, sewing, and painting. Literally, this talented lady was ours and we are filled with gratitude to have known her.
Edna was the matriarch of our family and a friend to all. She will be mourned and deeply missed as well by a large circle of extended family and friends.
