Obituary of Aiden O'Keefe

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Aiden Ryan O’Keefe announce his passing on October 3^rd, 2022 at the Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids) Toronto, ON at the age of 13 after a long battle with leukemia. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his parents: Donalda and Gary O’Keefe; sisters: Ellie and Kacie O’Keefe, pets; Ryder and Pearl; uncles: Dwayne (Vanessa) Marshall, Ryan (Stephanie) O’Keefe and Adam Chubbs; aunt Deirdre (Sheldon); cousins: Cailin, Jonas, Kolton, Piper and Nolan; grandparents: Mary Ann Marshall, Rod Curlew, Jeannette & Floyd O’Keefe and Leroy Saunders, great Grandparents: Poppy Gord Marshall and Granny Emily Caines. As well as a large circle of family and friends. Aiden was predeceased by his great grandmother Annette Marshall; great grandfather: Sidney Caines, great grandparents; Wilfred (Pearl) Curlew, Clyde (Mae) Saunders and George (Laura) O’Keefe and special friend Grace Voisey.

Family visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on October 8^th, 2022 from 2:00- 4:00 pm, followed by public visitation later that evening from 7:00 – 9:00 pm which will be held at the Pentecostal Church, Happy Valley Goose Bay.

The funeral Service will be held on October 9^th, 2022 at the Pentecostal Church, Happy Valley Goose Bay starting at 2:00 pm.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the following charities: Ronald McDonald House, NL and Candlelighters, NL.

Special thanks to Aiden’s Oncology team at the Janeway, Dr.Bowes, Goodyear, Moorehead, Amanda and Stephanie as well as the nurses at J4 medicine and medical daycare. Also special thanks to Aiden’s transplant and oncology team at sick kids as well as the critical care unit team. The care you have all shown and given Aiden these past 22 months have not gone unnoticed.
