It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Clarence Boyd Sheppard announce his passing on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the Palliative Care Unit of Western Long Term Care Home at the age of 83 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his loving wife of 55 years, Mercedes Sheppard (nee Perry); son Glenn (Tonia), daughter Trudy (Roy); grandchildren: Andrea (Jarrod), Avery, Cody (Liz), and Ashley (Tahner); great-grandchildren: Ava Lynn Griffin and Myah Jean Pink; brothers and sisters: Leona Gillette (Irving), Roger (Vera), Kathleen Parsons (Sonny), Thelma Lynch (Joe), Eddie (Judy), Wade (Ivy), Juanita (Nigel); sisters-in-law: Eileen Jesso and Ruby Park; as well as his brother-in-law John Perry.
Clarence was predeceased by his father Heber Sheppard and mother Matilda Sheppard (nee Gilbert); father-in-law John Perry; mother-in-law Mary Perry (nee Youden); as well as his brothers and sisters: Gary, Brian, Merrill, Lewis and Sherry.
Clarence was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, riding his quad, and rabbit catching. He was a fine musician who loved playing the fiddle. Whether it was playing for small events, festivals, Christmas parties or jamming with his brothers, this is when he was truly happy. One of his greatest honors as a fiddle player was when he played with his family for Queen Elizabeth II in 1978. His music has touched many lives. He was the finest gentleman and the most gentle of souls, who was loved by all who knew him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit.

Your smile and your music will live on in our hearts forever. Gone but not forgotten. Forever loved.
“God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you
And whispered, “come to Me”
With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay
A Golden Heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.”
