Note of thanks

The family of the late Alexander Roy Park, Lark Harbour would like to send our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to everybody who reached out to us during our time of deep sorrow.

Thank you to Rev. Effie for the lovely service, the St. James Church choir, organist Sharon Parsons, George Sheppard, Roy Evans and Ruth Travers. 

Also, thank you to Melanie Joyce for the lovely singing of one of our favourite hymns and to her family for supplying the music. Roy would have loved it!

A sincere thank you to Roy’s sister, Winnie Miller who did a beautiful tribute.  Thank you to the readers, his nieces Bonita Howe and Susan Kendell and his granddaughter Hayler Downer. 

A special Thank you to everyone who sent cards of condolences, food, monetary gifts and made donations to St. James memorial fun. It was greatly appreciated.  Thank you to the doctors and nurses, 3rd floor, WMRH for their special care, also thank you to the nurses at Palliative Care, WMRH for their compassion and kindness. Thank you to the staff at Fillatre’s Funeral Home for all their help and guidance.

Alexander Roy Park

It is with great sadness that the family of Alexander Roy Park announce his peaceful passing at the palliative care unit of Western Long Term Care Home, on November 3rd, 2022, at the age of 78 years. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 59 years Elaine (nee Darrigan), his three special sons Rick (Joanne), Greg (Kari), Brad (Mika), loving grandchildren Stephanie, Alexandra, Brett, Hayley, Owen, Kailee, and Jaxon, also his two precious great-grandchildren Dawson and Parker, and step grandchildren Isys and Freyja. Also left to mourn, his dear sister Winnie Miller (David deceased), his sisters-in-law Jeannie Childs (Garland), Carol Payne (Adrian) and Georgina Park.

He was predeceased by his dear brother Wallace and three infant siblings Elizabeth, Dorice and Gordon, his parents Alexander and Marjorie Park, his parents-in-law John and Naomi Darrigan. Also left to mourn, his extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Visitation will be Sunday, Nov 6 from 2-4pm, with the family service from 7-9pm at St. James Church in Lark Harbour.

Funeral service will be held at the St. James Church on Monday Nov 7, with interment to follow at the St. James cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations to the church in Roy's memory will be graciously accepted.
