Sadie Rebecca Callahan

St. George’s, NL

December 15, 1940 – November 5, 2022

It is with greatest of sadness, and yet with the offer of relief, that we must announce the passing of the finest of souls, our mother Sadie Rebecca Callahan, she will not suffer anymore. The type of person who cooked the meal, but ate last, someone who was the definition of the word respect and always held that high, our mother, our matriarch.  A musician, who enjoyed the music and what it brought to those listening, always hoping that it brought happiness.

She passed on to the life we all dream of, the reward we all seek, and in our hearts, we truly feel, “it’s never goodbye, just so long for now”.  We love you mom, Nanny, great-grandmother, and friend to so many, we all do, we always will.

She leaves to mourn her children:  Claudette (Bill), David (Rhoda), DJ (Shantelle), Ron (Kari); grandchildren: Parker, Beau, Lennox, Matt, Steven (Katrina); great-grandchild Cody, as well as a long list of grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Louisville, Kentucky.  As well her only remaining sibling, Vince White (Sue), brother-in-law Doug Callahan (Sharron).  Many nieces and nephews, family and friends, and the residents of Beachway Park, Florida.

She was predeceased by her husband Ron Callahan, parents Bart and Christina White, brothers Pat, Gerard and sisters Theresa and Phyllis.

She also leaves behind the greatest love and support that was provided by The Acadian Village staff, who for so long, provided her with much comfort, you were so special to her.

Special thanks to Dr. Ahmad, Dr. McComiskey, Dr. Dwyer, NP Alora White and nurse Ally Noseworthy.
