Obituary of Andrew Gushue

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Gushue on Sunday, November 6th, 2022, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital surrounded by those he loved. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories is the love of his life, Eileen Companion, his companion of 16 years. He also leaves to mourn his 5 children: Mike (Linda), Kev (Jocelyn), Joanne, Betty-Lou (Gus) and Glen; his grandchildren: Alicia Wells (Kit) and Andrew Glen Gushue; one great-granddaughter Alaska Wells; brothers: Edmund (Bonnie), Gerry (Ruth); sisters Edna and Jean; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Andrew was predeceased by his parents: Edmund Gushue and Elizabeth Gushue (nee Normore); grandchildren: Brooke Piercey and Steven Gushue; brother Don Gushue; sister Mary King (nee Gushue) and brothers-in-law Wilson, Leo and Gerry.

There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue. There will be a funeral service on Thursday, November 10th, 2022, at 9:45 a.m. held in the chapel at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue with Father Ed Terry officiating. There will be a reception to follow the funeral service at the Irishtown Community Centre (50 Plus Club) from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

In memory of Andrew, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
