Obituary of Gary Vickers

It is with great sadness that the family of Garrett (Gary) Patrick Vickers announce his passing in Happy Valley – Goose Bay, NL on November 23, 2022, at the age of 66 years. He was the second born in a family of six siblings to his parents, Florence, and Patrick Vickers, on May 18, 1956, in St. John’s, NL.

He will be remembered with love and beautiful memories by his wife, Judy, his children, Wendy (Jamie) Greene and David (Lindsay) Vickers, and his most precious grandchildren, Brady, Max and Charli Greene; Siblings, Regina Vickers, Diane (Gerry) Tobin, Brenda (George) Way, Sharon (Leo) Coady, and Janice (Greg) Saunders; In-Laws, Wanda (Robert) Williams, Wayne (Elaine) Halbot, Al Connell, and Kathy Blake, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Florence and Patrick Vickers, his in-laws, Mary and Walter Halbot, his sister-in-law, Delia Connell and brother-in-law, Neil Blake.

Friends may visit the family at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on Saturday, November 26, 2022, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted from Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Monday, November 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Boniface officiating. Cremation will take place following the service.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the many acts of kindness and the continuous compassionate support from family and friends during this difficult time. We are so grateful and blessed. Donations in his memory can be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish (Roof Fund). Flowers as an expression of sympathy are welcomed.
