John (Gerald) Turner

Passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit Surrounded by family, Gerald Turner at the age of 84 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 59 years Sharron (nee Brake); daughters: Lana, Cindy (Cordell), Gerri (Jack), Glenda (Keith), Ashley (Corey) and the son he never had Phil Ezekiel (Vicky); grandchildren: Heidi, Christopher, Brandon (Janessa) and Kirk; brothers: Tom (Nona) and Cyril; sisters: Margaret Ryan, Lillian (George) Wall, Bonnie (Bill) Bonnell and Marie George; special niece Tracy King and partner Jason LeDrew; special neighbours Kevin and Rhonda Power and Dereck and Patti Dawe; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Norah (nee Pike), brothers James (Margaret) and Gus, sisters Kay (Harvey) Brenton, Christina (Bert) Kelly and Jean (Bill) Wall. Cremation has taken place. Family will be receiving family and friends on Thursday, December 15 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 16 at 10:00 a.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, ST. Mark’s Avenue with Father Edward Terry officiating. The family would like to thank Colleen Carey, Dr. Davis and Dr. Thistle for the wonderful care he received throughout the years, and especially since his diagnosis, and also to Dr. White, Michelle King, and the amazing staff at the Palliative Care Unit who made the last leg of his life’s journey so comforting and peaceful. We will never forget your kindness, compassion and professionalism. You were all amazing.
