I am so saddened at the loss of my beautiful mother- in- law, Holly. When I was a child in Sunday School I learned about the Fruit of the Spirit. My mother- in- law lived a life that showed me by example the joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, gentleness and self control that I had been taught.
She welcomed me with loving open arms when her son Randy brought me home to meet her. She made me feel at home and I grew to love her deeply. The following poem expresses how I feel my mother-in-law would like us to remember her.
"I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun; of happy memories that I leave when life is done." (Helen Lowrie Marshall)
If I could say something to you now Holly, I would say you accomplished the above with flying colors! Your Grace and Beauty will never be forgotten. We have lost you from this earth, but you live in our hearts forever. Until we meet again. Your daughter- in- law, Ruth
