Olive Matthews

August 5, 1921 – December 28, 2022

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Olive Matthews (nee Roberts) our beloved mother and family patriarch at the age of 102 years at Corner Brook Long Term Care on December 28, 2022. She leaves to mourn her children: Diane Thistle (Paul), Bernetta Hoskins, Pauline Rees, and Melvin Matthews (Betty) and sister Ivy Edgecombe. Also grandchildren: Kelli, Aaron, Scott, Kim, Stacey, Dayna, Sandy, Richard, Barbara Ann, John and Arlene; 14 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband John Matthews, brothers Pleaman, Roger, Stafford and Gord, sisters Jeanette and Maisie, sons-in-law Gerald Rees and Roy Hoskins, parents Frederick and Pearl Roberts.

We would like to thank the staff at 3 North Long Term Care for their care and compassion they gave to our mother.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no formal visitation or funeral at this time. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Your life was a blessing, Your memory a treasure, You are loved beyond words, and will be missed beyond measure.
