To Marilyn, Riley, Tamara, Melissa, Myrna, Michelle, Mandy, Deon & all the family:
I hardly know how to put into words the hurt and grief you are all feeling over the loss of Melinda! She was a daughter, a mother, a sister, a niece, an aunt and a friend. Her spirit and heart will be with all of you forever. I know that my heart is broken and aches knowing that her life will only be a memory and we will only get to see her pretty face in photos.
Living with all of you back in the early 80’s, while attending trade school, Melinda & Michelle were the two that mostly became my bunk mates. Michelle I called my little foot warmer, but Melinda, boys-old-boys was she ever hard to sleep with. You’d wake up from being pinned by her legs across you and half frozen because she would steal all the blankets! I used to tell her that and she would laugh at me.
I only wish I could be there for all of you and I am confident that you all understand my circumstances.
Melinda you lived too far away from me so, I didn’t get to see your beautiful face very often, but distance did not diminish my love for you. I cannot say goodbye because it seems too final, but my hope is to see you again one day where there is no pain, tears, or sorrow. I will miss our chats!
We shared the nickname Babe, so, Babe you will never be forgotten you will be a treasured memory that no one can take away and you will cherished in our hearts forever,
Love & Prayers,
Sister/Aunt Pennie
