It is with great sadness that the family of the late Emma Jane Halfyard announce her passing on January 5th, 2023, at the Western Long Term Care-Palliative Care Unit, at the age of 72 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her daughter: Kimberly Halfyard (Jason Hynes); son: John (Denise) Halfyard; sisters-in-law: Joan (John) Giles, Joy Raike, Joyce Curran, Glenda (Bob) Rodway, Joyce Hoyles, Amy Hoyles; brothers-in-law: Heber (Paula) Halfyard, Shawn Halfyard; her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Mandy Hynes and Daniel Halfyard; special cousin: Shirley Hounsell; special friends: Donna and Roy Haynes, as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will also be dearly missed by her family and friends in Bonne Bay, where she loved to spend her summers.
Jane was predeceased by her husband Terry Halfyard; brothers: Donald Hoyles, Garland Hoyles; brother-in-law Terry Raike; parents: Edith and Obediah Hoyles; mother-in-law: Rita Halfyard; father-in-law: John Halfyard.
The family would like to give a special “Thank you” to the Doctors, Nurses, and staff of Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Western Long Term Care’s Palliative Care Unit, and Broadway Family Health Clinic.
Visitation is set to take place on Friday, January 6th from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Fillatre Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue in Corner Brook. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 7th at Fillatre Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mickton Phiri officiating. As expressions of sympathy, flowers will be graciously accepted, or donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of one's choice.
