Obituary of Winnie Forward

It is with deep and profound sadness that the family of the late Winnie Forward (nee: Gillingham) announce her passing on Friday, January 6^th, 2023, at the Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley – Goose Bay, NL, at the age of 76.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband: Bill Forward; sons: Wade (Denise), Tom (Kathy), Barry (Joyce), Jamie, and Scott (Kaitlin); daughter: Sherry (Raymond); and sister: Marjorie Learning (Harris); grandchildren: Travis, Preston, Jesse, Julia, Jordan, Kylee, Danielle, Jenna, Ryan, Brooke, Sarah, Jonah, Mackenzie, Hilary, Riley, and Hudson; 7 great-grandchildren: Riley, Olivia, Marcus, Eric, Leland, Nevaya, and Alexis; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Winnie was predeceased by her parents: Phoebe and George Gillingham; sisters: Eliza, Irene, Ella, Elizabeth, Ruby, and Effie; brother: Garland; and best friend: Grace Anderson.

As per Winnie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be held at St. Andrews Anglican Church, Happy Valley Goose Bay, NL, on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Amber Tremblett officiating.

A special thank you for the exceptional care Winnie received from the doctors and nurses at Labrador Health Centre.
