November 2, 1928 – January 11, 2023
 

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of the late Sarah MacDonald announce her passing peacefully at the age of 94 years at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL. Sarah leaves to mourn her four children: Sandra MacDonald (Ontario), Jeannette Christopher (Eric), Karen MacDonald-White (Bert) and Roland MacDonald (Ontario); 6 grandchildren: Joe Whynott (Trinia), Leanne Brockway (Jason), Stephen Christopher (Lynette), Jamie MacDonald (Sonja), Jeffrey MacDonald-White, and Natalia MacDonald; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Sarah will be sadly missed by her sisters: Mavis Douglas (Ontario), Doreen MacMillan (Nova Scotia), and Veda Payne (Roger) from Ontario; brothers Jack Clarke (Ontario) and James Clarke (Jean); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Sarah was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Roland MacDonald (1983), sisters Cassandra, Daisy, Jean, and brothers Allister and Harold.

There will be a visitation held on Sunday, January 15^th, 2023, from the hours of 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street. Funeral service will take place on Monday, January 16^th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Mary’s Anglican Church, 456 Curling Street, with Reverend Cynthia Haines-Turner officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

The service will be live streamed on Fillatre’s Facebook page on Monday, January 16^th, 2023, beginning at 1:50 p.m. Should there be any technical issues, the service will be recorded and posted shortly after.
