March 20, 1954 - January 18, 2023

L'Anse Au Loup, NL 

Mildred Ursula Normore (nee Layden); beloved mother, wife, sister, friend and her favourite title of all - grandmother; passed away on January 18th, 2023.

Her grandsons were the light of her life, and her love shone through with her many trips across the island to see them. She loved them deeply and cared for them passionately.

She was the glue that held her family and friends together. Always there to lend a hand or help out a loved one. She was an Angel who gained her wings long before her passing.

Leaving to mourn her husband Richard, daughters Terrilynn (Derrick) & Natalie (Paul), her pride and joys, her grandsons Carson & Cole; Sisters Mahalla (Bernard), Dallas(Ellis), Kenneth (Jane), Eric (Iris), Russell (Jean), Mervin (Valerie), Gary, Leslie John (Phyllis) and a large circle of family & friends.

Predeceased by her parents Raymond and Hattie Layden, brother Raymond, sister Selina and her precious nephew Lindsay Cabot.

As she loved to help others; In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to grandsons school, Baltimore School Complex in Ferryland. (baltimoreschool21@gmail.com)

Special thank you to the ICU Doctors, Nurses & support staff at Western Memorial Hospital for their care & compassion.

By Moms request, there will be an immediate family only service on Friday, January 20th 2:00-4:00pm.
Public viewing (Closed Casket) will take place Friday evening 6:00-8:00pm and Saturday, January 21st 1:00-4:00pm & 6:00-8:00pm.
Funeral Service will take place at St. Paul’s Anglican Church January 22nd at 2pm.
