Annie Mae Reid (nee Payne)
December 2,1935 - January 23,2023
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Late Annie Mae Reid announce her passing on January 23, 2023.
Annie died peacefully surrounded by her four children: Bill Reid, Hedley Reid (Sheila nee Parsons), Glenda Reid Bavis (Pat), and Patricia Biggin (Scott). Annie is survived as well by,
seven grandchildren Veronica Bavis & Bradley Duffenais, Patrick Bavis (Jennifer nee Greene), Tyler Leas, Tim Reid (Chantel Howald), Heather Reid (Benjamin Lawson), Hannah, and Liam Biggin; six great-grandchildren Morgan Hettesheimer, Kayden, Jessie, Melanie Anderson, Peter, and Henry Bavis; her “boys” Terry, Harold (Suzanne), Frank (Lorianne) Hutchings, Baxter (predeceased), and families; sister-in-law Bertha Payne, Charlotte Reid, and Melissa Smith; brothers-in-law Walter Reid and Anna (nee Bennett), Clyde Reid , and Calvin Payne; a large circle of very special nieces, nephews, family and friends; and special caregivers Elaine Devereaux, Rhonda Biggin, and Darlene Wells.
Annie was predeceased by her husband William Henry Reid (June 24, 1989); friend Eugene Hutchings; parents Emma Florence and Gerald Isaac Payne; and raised by grandparents Deborah and Charles Payne; grandparents Mary Elizabeth and John Charles Payne; sister Lilly Authorine Payne (Gordon); brother Emmanuel Payne (Bride); “like brothers” uncles Stanley (Mary) Payne, Kenneth Payne; “like sister” aunt Mabel (Thomas Decker); special aunts and uncles Faith Hutchings (Ronald), Ina Organ (Raymond), Lloyd Payne (Bertha), Alexander Payne, Hedley Payne, Helen Anne (Charlie Payne), Raymond Payne, Bessie, and Authorine Payne; parents-in-law Thedosia (Major) and John Reid; brothers-in-law Eric (Mary) and Charles Reid; sisters-in-law Lucy (Simeon Reid), Gladys Payne, and Elizabeth Reid.
A special thank you to Dr. James Bowen, Dr. Ishak, Dr. Hughes and the staff of Bonne Bay Health Centre, who went above and beyond to make mom comfortable during her final resting days. Also the staff at the Cow Head Medical Clinic, and Reverend Terry Rose.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake, as are her wishes. Visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Cow Head, NL from the hours of 7-9 pm on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, and from 4-9 pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2023, with the Reverend Terry Rose & Catechist Nora Shears officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican cemetery. All are welcome!
Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers donations can be made to St Mary’s Anglican Church, the Cemetery Fund, Veterans Memorial Park or Bonne Bay Auxiliary.
