Jean Elliott - Tipple

July 8^th, 1936 - February 2^nd, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jean Elliott-Tipple (nee Companion) announce her passing on the 2nd of February, 2023 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Long Term Care Home in Corner Brook at the age of 86 after a brief illness with cancer.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her daughters: Janice Elliott and Nancy (Gary) Pitcock; her stepchildren: Tony (Debbie) Tipple and Linda (Paul) Maguire; grandchildren: Hunter Gullage  and Brooke Nalley; step grandchildren: James Targett, Kimberley Maguire, Janet (Brennan) Daley and step great granddaughter Maeve; sister Mary Batt; brother Gerald (Susan) Companion; sisters in law: Mary Companion, Audrey Elliott, and Brenda Capolla; brothers in law: Dave (Marie) Elliott and Bob Collins; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her first husband Clive Elliott (1973) and her second husband Melvin Tipple (2020); her parents Vincent and Mary Companion;  sisters Nora (Harold) Hayden, Joan (Alex) Noseworthy and Kathleen (Frank) Peter; brothers Lawrence (Violet), Robert (Dorothy), Leo, James and Gordon; parents in law Harold and Louise Elliott; sisters in law  Ruth Collins and Joan (Gordon) Shave;  brothers in law Frank Batt,  Doug Elliott and Harold Jr. (Joanne) Elliott.

Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Tuesday, February 7 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 8 at 11:00 a.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Western Long Term Care. Many thanks to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit for their exceptional treatment of Mom during her one week stay.
